《竹报平安》

竹与人们的物质生活、文化生活的关系更为密切。竹坚挺有节，形象潇洒标致，故很早就被文人用以寓意人的品格。“竹报平安”指平安家信，也简称“竹报”。后来从除夕到元旦，把发明了纸卷的爆竹，家家户户燃放，意在驱邪魔，迎平安。故有“爆竹声中一岁除”或“爆竹一声除旧，桃符万象更新”等诗句。民间吉祥图案则有画竹或儿童放爆竹，寓意报平安的。

　　

Bamboo is more closely related to people’s material and cultural life. It has long been used by scholars to symbolize people's character due to its tenacity and handsome image. “Bamboos Presage Peace” means the Ping An Family Letter, also referred to as “Family Letter”. Later from New Year's eve to New Year's day, the firecrackers rolled by the paper are invented and fired by households, aiming to exorcise evil spirits and welcome peace. There are poems such as “ Firecracker fired, another year passed” describing exact the scene. There are folk auspicious patterns painted bamboo or children setting off firecrackers for peace-reporting.
